Himachal partners with NDDB to set up milk processing unitÂ
The Himachal Pradesh government will collaborate with National Dairy Development Board to set up a state-of-the-art milk processing plant at Dagwar in Kangra district, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said.
- The milk processing plant would be set up at a cost of about Rs 250 crore with NDDB’s assistance in its operation and marketing of milk products.
- The Chief Minister said the capacity of the plant in Dagwar would range from one lakh to three lakh litres in which high quality products of milk would also be prepared.
Centre allocates ₹145 crore to Nagaland for Unity Mall
The Central government has allocated ₹145 crore to Nagaland for the construction of a Unity Mall in Dimapur. This funding is part of the Union Budget 2023-24, which has set aside ₹5,000 crore for the establishment of Unity Malls across the country.

World’s largest Ramayan temple in Bihar to be completed by 2025
The construction work of the ‘world’s largest Ramayan temple’ started on June 20 in the East Champaran district of Bihar following some religious rituals at the site.
- The reports stated that the ‘Ramayan temple’ in Bihar will be taller than the 12th-century Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia. The estimated cost of the temple’s construction is ₹500 crore.
- By the end of 2025, the construction work of the three-storeyed Viraat Ramayan temple is expected to be completed.

Pakistan has banned the celebration of Holi and other Hindu festivals across educational institutions in the country to save the Islamic identity, which it says was “eroding”.

China blocked a proposal by India and the US at the United Nations to designate Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Sajid Mir, wanted for his involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, as a global terrorist.
- Beijing blocked the proposal that had been moved by the US and co-designated by India to blacklist Mir under the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council as a global terrorist and subject him to assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo.
PM Modi exchanges official gifts with US President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill
US president Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden presented a handmade, antique American book galley from the early 20th Century as the official gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day state visit to the United States.
- Meanwhile, PM Modi presented Biden a copy of the first edition print of the book, ‘The Ten Principal Upanishads’ published by Faber and Faber Ltd of London, a special sandalwood box, handcrafted by a master craftsman from Jaipur. The box contains the idol of Lord Ganesha and a Diya (oil lamp), handcrafted by a family of fifth-generation silversmiths from Kolkata.

UNDP partners with DAY-NULM towards empowering women entrepreneurs
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) have joined forces in a collaborative partnership aimed at empowering women and enabling them to make informed career choices in the field of entrepreneurship.
- The partnership will provide support for women looking to start and expanding their own enterprises, particularly in sectors such as care economy, digital economy, electric mobility, waste management, food packaging and more. Focused on fostering entrepreneurship development and accelerating enterprise growth, the three-year project, extendable beyond 2025, will cover eight cities in the initial phase.

Acharya N. Gopi, a renowned poet, literary critic, and recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, has been chosen as the recipient of the Prof. Kothapalli Jayashankar Award.

IOC awards Olympic Order to WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) presented the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, with the Olympic Order for his inspirational role in ensuring the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 took place despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
- The Olympic Order was presented to Dr Tedros, for his support of the cooperation agreement between the IOC and the WHO signed in 2020, by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach at the Olympic House.
